Afterwards, make sure to pay a visit to the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. Known globally as a symbol of peace, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to travel to McLeod Ganj in Dharamshala. I had the chance to have lunch with Tibetans at the temple, and later attended a teaching session by his Holiness and his followers. It was a great honor and a joy to finally meet one of the most revered figures of the century.
"Let us try to recognize the precious nature of each day"
Dalai Lama, on my travel quest.

During my time in McLeod Gang, I formed a bond with a young Tibetan local who recounted his escape from the Chinese invasion in Tibet. Forced into exile, he shared parts of his life story with me before we had lunch together. Afterwards, he kindly gave me a ride on his motorcycle to the bus station, offering his well wishes and protection for my onward journey. As a farewell gesture, he draped a white cloth over my shoulders, touched foreheads with me, and bid me goodbye.
